A trip to northern Michigan is really not complete without a day trip to the amazing Mackinac Island – the charming place of yesteryear, complete with horse and buggy rides, fort touring, bicycling, fudge making and enjoying all the sights and sounds of the island. Take one of the ferry boats over from Mackinac City ports and gaze at the wonder of the Mackinac Bridge on your 20 minute ride.  Be sure to check out Rock Island on the other side of the island (via a tour ride or by bike) for a photo capture, but also stroll along the streets behind Main Street to see the charming homes, mostly built around the 1800’s with their lovely front porches and flower gardens.  For all things Mackinac Island, visit their website here.
